A great turn out to support Clarence in, appropriately enough, Clarence Square in Regency Ward in the heart of the Pavilion consitituency. Despite the ward's two Council seats currently being held by the Greens, including the Green group leader Cllr Jason Kitcat, voter concerns over the poor performance of the Council accurately reflected those being voiced in other wards, not least the council's current transport policies. Parking charges, road congestion and the difficulty in getting deliveries to local businesses in the city centre were all raised on the doorstep. Conservative support was particularly solid in many of the residential apartment blocks that characterise Regency. An excellent day's campaigning with solid support from colleagues from across the Brighton & Hove Conservative Association area. The general election may be 18 months away, but for Clarence and his team the campaign is already well underway.
