Last night I attended a lively debate with my fellow candidates in front of hundreds of students and staff at the excellent University of Sussex.
We discussed a wide variety of questions submitted by the Politics Society, co-hosts of the event, and a large number from the audience. It was a passionate debate that was exciting to be a part of and I was happy to be able to talk about my ideas and policies for Brighton Pavilion and the wider city. A couple of the issues that arose were the future of the NHS, my priorities for Brighton, plus the future of both Greece in the EU and tuition fees here in the UK.
It was great to see so many students engaged with politics and I hope that they have all either registered to vote or are planning to do so soon! I am looking forward to more events like these in the near future.
