Clarence, the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Brighton Pavilion, joined the Prime Minister, Transport Secretary, Northern Ireland Secretary and dozens of other Tory candidates in Newark on Sunday (May 25th) to support the Conservative candidate Robert Jenrick ahead of the town's vital by-election on June 5th. Clarence spent the morning meeting Newark voters and delivering leaflets for Robert, working alongside colleagues including Mark Reckless, the MP for Rochester and Strood.
Clarence said: "It was very good to be able to spare a few hours from my campaigning in Brighton Pavilion to support Robert Jenrick ahead of the vital by-election in Newark on June 5th. We were fortunate enough to be joined by the Prime Minister who gave us an inspiring speech at the Campaign HQ before we hit the streets with the latest Conservative newspaper for the town highlighting how our long-term economic plan has successfully delivered nearly 8,000 jobs for Newark. Similarly, unemployment is continuing to fall steadily across Brighton, thanks to our responsible economic management. Having spent much of the day in Nottinghamshire, I then headed straight back south to get on with my own campaigning in Pavilion, attending the Euro Election count at Hove Town, where our city-wide vote rose over the previous Euro elections in 2009. It undoubtedly proves the constituency remains a three-way marginal and that there's everything to play for in Pavilion ahead of next year's General Election."
